Aggressive cane development programme, taken up by the company, has resulted in gradual improvement in the cane availability to the mill and it is expected the plant may reach a level of 70% plant capacity by 2011-12. The plant performance is also expected to be improved by 2011-12 season by which time the plant starts crushing at 3500 TCD.

As a part of Cane Development Programme it has identified new areas and new growers in the factory zone and outside and growers are motivated to take up sugar cane cultivation in an area of 15000 to 20000 acres besides educating the growers to increase the yields of sugar cane to 35 tonnes per acre to enable the plant to reach 100% capacity utilization by 2013-14.

Environment and Pollution Management
To make the best use of the treated effluents during 2006 the Factory has made an expenditure of over Rs 40 Lakhs for up-gradation of ETP developed cane farm in an area of 20 Acres adjacent to the Effluent Treatment Plant for safe disposal of the treated effluent. Thus, it is ensured that the treated effluent does not escape from the factory premises and pollute outside areas. Further a greenery belt is being developed all along the factory premises and general greenery with avenue plantations in vacant areas for improving the ambience.

Sugar Quality
 
In India bold grain carries a premium. Keeping this in mind, the unit is planning to produce sugar of bolder grain of low colour value. The production is categorized as following (figures are approx. as they vary every year)-

Plant & Process
The factory follows the standard double sulphitation process of clarification and 3 1/2 massecuite boiling scheme for production of direct plantation white sugar.
